Toilet icons

For ladies...

and, for men.

This is cute... for kids, and for

boys & girls.

This is nostalgic.

This is 3 dimensional...

and modern.

This is fun...

and these are obvious.

But when in doubt...

Cats hold off Hawks

GEELONG 6.3 8.10 9.12 12.16 (88)
HAWTHORN 3.2 6.5 9.8 11.11 (77)

Next shot at the title, anyone?

GEELONG has beaten Hawthorn by 11 points at the MCG on Friday night in a scintillating clash.

The Cats remained on track for a successful premiership defence before a massive crowd of 86,179 at the MCG.

The 11 points victory means the Cats have now beaten their two main rivals inside a week, following last Saturday's demolition of the Western Bulldogs...

...and are 10 points clear atop the ladder after 16 wins from 17 starts this campaign.

Super Drains

Malaysia's Pride...

and joy...
until...

If you think that’s a computer rendering, guess again.

The incredible engineering masterpiece pictured above is a massive stormwater management solution for the metropolitan area of the city of Saitama, Japan.

Section - Storm Water System, city of Saitama, Japan

While it looks like the set of the next action blockbuster or music video, the structure is real and will leave you washed away if you overstay your welcome when a typhoon hits.

Coming in at 25.4 meters tall (83 feet) and 78 meters (255 feet) wide and running 177 meters long (580 feet), the massive underground system started construction in 1992, and is open for tourists interested in exploring a vast concrete landscape.

The Metropolitan Area Outer Discharge Channel was designed to alleviate the rainfall that has caused six major floods to occur in the region since 1979, two from typhoons, providing an underground response to an above ground occurrence.

According to engineers, the gargantuan sewer water discharge channel will reduce the flooded area by more than 80%.

Completed behind schedule a few years ago, this extensive system has yet to be put to use, but is open for inquiring minds wanting to experience the self designated “underground temple” firsthand.

Although a large and costly undertaking, the metropolitan inhabitants of Saitana, Japan can rest a little easier, knowing that their water troubles will be well beneath them when the next major storm hits.

Cats thrash Dogs

GEELONG CATS 3.3 6.11 11.12 19.17 (131)
WESTERN BULLDOGS 3.3 7.5 9.9 10.10 (70)

Geelong reinforced its tag as the rightful premiership favourite with a clinical 61-point thumping of the Western Bulldogs in this afternoon's top-of-the-table round 16 AFL clash at Skilled Stadium.

In windy conditions, the match failed to live up to its top-of-the-table status in the first half. But a devastating 13-goal second half from the Cats demonstrated the reigning premiers remain very much the team to beat for this season's flag.

Geelong ran rampant in the final quarter, piling on eight majors, before the Bulldogs finally managed a goal close to fulltime.

Nudibranchs

Nudibranchia - "Art Forms of Nature", 1904

Nudibranchs are the shell-less relatives of the snail and are known for their garish colors.

These tiny sea creatures are usually only 2cm - 6cm in length and can be found worldwide.

They are able to thrive in any depth of salt water from the deepest darkest ocean floors to warm shallow water.

There are over 3,000 known species of nudibranchs, but only half have been discovered so far.

The creatures' short life span of 1 year make it possible for many of them to live undetected and vanish from the earth without a trace.

Nudibranchs are blind, and the animal relies on smell, taste and feel to navigate their surroundings to find coral, sponges, eggs, small fish, and other nudibranchs to eat.

The current state of Malaysian politics is also "colorful", and the government is so pathetic and blind, that one wonders whether their lifespan is also like the nudibranchs - ONE year?
