GEELONG returned to the top of the AFL ladder in convincing fashion in front of 44,377 spectators with a comprehensive 68-point thrashing of Adelaide at AAMI Stadium last night.

The 18.16 (124) to 8.8 (56) win was the perfect warm-up for the Cats ahead of their looming double-header against fellow premiership contenders the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn.
